What does the Starred AI Beta do?

How long does it take to set up?

We’ll be rolling out the Starred AI Beta in waves, to ensure a smooth and supported experience for everyone. It’s a first-come, first-served program, so we encourage you to sign up early to secure your spot. Once you do, we’ll reach out within two weeks to confirm your interest and let you know when your onboarding is scheduled.

Who will have access if I sign up?

To ensure proper configuration and testing, this beta is currently limited to admin users. Broader access will be available in a future release.

How long will the Beta last?

The Beta is expected to run for 3 to 6 months. Throughout the program, we’ll keep you updated on the timeline, key milestones, and any changes so you know exactly what to expect.

How much will the Beta cost?

The Beta is completely free to join. We’re offering it at no cost so you can explore the benefits of Starred AI and share feedback without any commitment.

How much will it cost beyond the Beta?

We’re still evaluating the usage and cost of running our Starred AI and this will be a part of the assessment in the Beta. But rest assured, we’ll share clear options with you well in advance, so you can make an informed decision when the time comes.

Which AI models are you using?

As a user, you’ll be able to choose to use our own internal model or OpenAI. By default all users will have access to our internal model, but you can opt in to have access to OpenAI as well. Once enabled, you’ll be able to switch between the two. Here is how it will work: If you use our internal model, your data stays completely within our system and is not shared externally. If you opt in to have access to OpenAI’s model, we will send aggregated, non-identifiable data to their platform. This option offers access to more advanced responses thanks to OpenAI’s capabilities.

How accurate is the AI?

The AI is designed and built specifically for Candidate Insights to provide high-quality, context-aware responses. Starred AI is assisted by specific algorithms that will feed the aggregated data to the AI models in order to ensure the validity of the answers. That said, its accuracy can vary depending on the complexity of the task, the clarity of your input, and which model is used. Our internal model performs well for all use cases and keeps data private. The OpenAI model, when enabled, may offer more advanced and accurate responses, especially for complex or nuanced queries. That said, AI isn't perfect. It can sometimes make mistakes or provide incomplete answers. We recommend reviewing critical outputs and providing feedback so we can continue improving the system. We’re also continually working to improve the quality of responses and will incorporate newer, more advanced models as they become available to deliver even better performance over time. Thus a part of the beta will be getting input from you on how we can improve the model and if you notice any irrelevant or bad answers.

What data will you send to OpenAI if we sign up?

If you choose to use OpenAI, we may send aggregated, non-identifiable data to OpenAI for the purpose of generating responses. Here’s what that means:

  • We do not send personal data such as candidate names, email addresses, or other identifiers.
  • Only the text content required to generate the AI response, such as anonymized feedback or question text, is shared.
  • You’ll always be in control: Using OpenAI is completely optional and only available if you explicitly request it and we do not send any data to OpenAI unless you choose to use this instead of the Starred hosted models.
  1. Where is my data stored, and is it secure? Your data is stored securely in a database that we host and manage directly. This setup ensures that your data stays within our infrastructure, with no third-party storage involved. Whether you're using our internal AI model or have opted to enable the OpenAI integration, your data is always stored securely in this same environment. We follow industry best practices for data encryption, access controls, and continuous monitoring to keep your information safe at all times.

Can the AI access sensitive or personal information?

Yes, the AI can access personal information in the form of comments. It cannot tie this comment to a specific user, but if the comment contains personal information, then the AI has "access" to that information.

How do you ensure data privacy and compliance (GDPR)

We are committed to full compliance with data protection laws and ensuring that your information is handled with the utmost care and security.

  • Data Encryption: All data used for AI purposes is securely encrypted both while it's being transferred and while it's stored, ensuring it remains protected at all times.
  • Controlled Access: We have strict access controls to ensure that only authorized personnel can access or process data used in AI models.
  • GDPR Compliance: We follow GDPR guidelines for any personal data involved in AI or inference, ensuring your data is processed lawfully, transparently, and for legitimate purposes.
  • Data Minimization: We only use the minimum amount of data necessary for AI tasks, and we don’t store or use personal data unless absolutely required for the functionality.
  • User Rights: You have the right to access, modify, or request the deletion of your data at any time. We respect your right to privacy, and any AI-related data processing is carried out with your consent. Internal Hosting & Secure Storage: Data used for AI purposes is stored securely in our own vector database, which we manage and host, ensuring greater control over privacy and security.
  • Data Retention Policy:
We retain data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, after which it is securely deleted.
  • Third-Party Disclosure:
We do not share personal data with third parties for AI processing unless explicitly stated and consented to.

You’re always in control. We only use the OpenAI model if you explicitly request access and enable it via settings.

What happens to my data if I opt out of the Starred AI Beta?

If you choose to opt out of the Starred AI Beta, we will delete all of your data from the database used to support the Starred AI functionality.

Your privacy and control over your data are important to us, and opting out will fully remove your participation and any associated AI data from our system.

How do I provide feedback?

We’d love to hear your thoughts! You will be able to provide quick and easy feedback directly in the platform by telling us if a response is helpful or not.
