How to Send a Message to a Respondent

Follow up on feedback by sending a message from Starred.

Follow these steps to contact a respondent:

  1. Navigate to your dashboard and click the Responses tab
  2. Find all individual responses in the response list
  3. Select the response to access the individual rating
  4. Click the three dots in the top right corner to open the menu
  5. Select Contact respondent
  6. A message box appears where you can type your message.

Important information about messaging

Message delivery

The respondent receives your message in the same inbox where they received the original survey.

Message header

Your message includes your name, profile picture, and company name in the header.

Anonymous respondents: Starred supports messaging anonymous respondents with important considerations:

  • The respondent remains anonymous when they receive your initial message
  • If the respondent replies to your message, their email address becomes visible and they lose anonymity
  • Explain this privacy change in your initial message to anonymous respondents
